With the game’s PC release on Steam mere weeks away (6 October 2023) and engagements planned for PAX Australia and SXSW Sydney 2023, developers Hojo Studio have shared another in-universe look at their upcoming game – The Godfeather.
The Godfeather, a name which is a pun on a film many would be immediately familiar with, sets out to combine “frantic action, stealth and exploration with a sweeping story of the pigeon underworld’s quest to take back the old neighbourhood from their enemies”. The game takes place across dynamically generated levels, each filled with their own individual targets and hazards that need to be “taken out” the only way pigeons know how. Your character, a rising associate in the pigeon underworld must fulfill missions from HQ and face brutal boss encounters to progress through the story.
Hojo Studio, creators of the upcoming “swoop and poop” PC game, The Godfeather, presents a special poop plop down with the celebrated director of flaptastic trillers, Flyin’ De Palma. Take a peep from a recent episode of The Director’s Perch.
Your enemies? “Anti-Pigeon Drones”, cats, lifeguards, lawn-Karens, owls and much more. You must dodge them by using stealth tactics and poop in hearty balance. long the way, players can loot dumpsters to reload your poop ammo, upgrade their pigeon abilities to get the edge in combat or customise their pigeon’s whole look for maximum glow-up.
The Godfeather is set to be released on the PC starting 6 October 2023, with Nintendo Switch and mobile platform versions set to launch in Early 2024.
