Team17 Digital, in collaboration with Rightsized Games, has unveiled a new roguelike resource management game titled “Undead Inc.” The announcement was made at the PC Gaming Show as a PC exclusive which will be released sometime in the near future.
In Undead Inc., players assume the position of a managing director at Endswell Medical, an already thriving pharmaceuticals company. The gameplay involves expanding the business, maintaining revenue streams, and satisfying the demands of a progressively assertive board of directors. Simultaneously, players are tasked with keeping the company’s dark secrets under wraps by any means necessary.
Undead Inc. seeks to delve into the dichotomy of managing a corporate entity, showcasing the contrasting aspects of a company’s image and operations. The game requires players to strike a balance between maintaining the public image of Endswell Medical and managing its sinister underbelly. Behind the scenes, players are engaged in researching and developing bioweapons, controversial pharmaceuticals, and hazardous technology, akin to many of today’s conspiracy theories. The ultimate goal is to sell these clandestine products to the highest bidder while ensuring that any crisis is kept hidden both literally and figuratively.
However, as with all secrets, the truth eventually comes to light in the game, forcing the players to adapt and make rapid decisions. To sustain Endswell Medical’s aggressive growth plans, players must swiftly relocate their operations, seizing as much money, equipment, and other assets as possible to establish a new corporation in a neighboring town, and restart the entire cycle.
