An all-new physical edition of the bullet hell metroidvania game The Knight Witch is now available to purchase on the PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch, following a period of digital exclusivity on the platforms. Whether looking for a physical and deluxe version of a game you have already enjoyed or wanting to get the definitive edition of a game you think looks promising – prepare to embark on a journey across the fictional world of Dungeonidas, to save the protagonists home from an invasion of war golems.
The Deluxe Edition, available at retailers, includes a physical copy of Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team’s fast-paced shoot ’em up, along with several collectible items. These include four exclusive art cards, a digital soundtrack, and a special reversible inlay. A wee bit disappointing to see them not go all-out with a physical soundtrack, but a few decent trinkets nevertheless.
The Knight Witch sets out to offer a metroidvania adventure set in a beautifully hand-drawn world. Players will experience fast-paced combat, while casting powerful card-based spells and making impactful moral choices. The objective is to uncover the force behind the War Golem invasion, and protect the player’s home.
Players assume the role of Rayne, exploring the once tranquil metropolis of Dungeonidas. They will face numerous enemies that have overrun the city’s labyrinthine streets, and utilize the devastating powers of the Knight Witch. Rayne’s playstyle can be customized via a deck-building system, which offers over 40 unique spell cards. The game also provides opportunities for players to engage with the city’s citizens during press conferences, presenting the moral challenge of revealing the true state of the ongoing war.
