A Labyrinthian Cathedral Awaits PS4 Gamers

Following the game’s original releases on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC, developer Decemberborn Interactive and publisher Elden Pixels have released their 9-bit metroidvania adventure game Cathedral over to the PlayStation 4. Priced at $14.99 / €12.99 or local equivalent, a labyrinth of more than 600 interconnected room await for players to explore – laden with secrets, puzzles, items and special challenges to discover.

In Cathedral, players wake up in a world with no recollection of how they got there. Control a nameless knight from a different world, who teams up with a spirit known as Soul. Explore the world together to figure out who you are, how you got there, and most importantly, how to get back home.

To unravel the secrets of the knight’s past, you will have to find five legendary elemental orbs protected by five fearsome guardians. Make your way through their dungeons, meet them head-on in combat, and see if you can defeat and claim the treasure they are guarding! In classic metroidvania fashion, on your journey you’ll find a host of items that allow you to explore the world even further, reaching new areas, secrets and surprises!

On Steam, Cathedral enjoys a ‘Very Positive’ ranking, with 80% of 159 user reviews since launching on 1 November 2019 being positive. The newly released PlayStation 4 version is now available via the PlayStation Store, with backwards compatibility support with the PlayStation 5.

Finally, we can announce that Cathedral is now available on the PlayStation 4! It feels like it’s been too long of a wait! Here at Decemberborn, we were all so eager to spread the news, as we wanted others to experience this incredible adventure. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Elden Pixels for helping us publish Cathedral and all the players who have continued to support us on this journey.
