Ghostwire: Tokyo Launches Worldwide on PS5 and PC

In what could be one of the last Bethesda titles receiving a console exclusive release on a non-Xbox platform, Bethesda Softworks and developer Tango Gameworks have released the first-person open-world action game Ghostwire: Tokyo on the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. A review of this, unfortunately postponed due to me being unwell this week, is expected to go live on The Otaku’s Study tomorrow.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is set in an alternate reality Tokyo, where the city has become overrun by deadly supernatural forces and a mysterious poisonous fog that causes the population to vanish. Possessed by a force and kept alive from the nastier effects of this fog, players must master the mystical arts of Ethereal Weaving while working to defeat the menacing Hannya and his followers, the Visitors, who have invaded Tokyo.

Ghostwire: Tokyo seeks to transport players into an “intriguing world filled with characters from Japanese legends, folklore, and tales”, and at the same time, offer an opportunity to explore Tokyo’s ultra-modern cityscape, discover iconic landmarks, and uncover the hidden secrets scattered throughout it.

Can’t pick up the game right now but want to experience a bit of Ghostwire: Tokyo for yourself? A free prequel visual novel is now available to download on the PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
