Whether via selected smart televisions, modern gaming platforms or streaming boxes – there are many opportunities for fans of anime to catch up with the latest episodes, localised, in high quality, and legally. But surprising, while supporting many platforms, CrunchyRoll has not been available on the Nintendo Switch. That changed in recent days, with the platform confirming that the new CrunchyRoll App is now available worldwide on the Switch.
Combining the best of both living room and mobile experiences, fans can enjoy more than 1,000 series and 30,000 episodes on the Crunchyroll app, including Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and One Piece, through their Nintendo Switch console either docked at home or taken on the go, complete with offline viewing support.

While video-on-demand platforms have taken off on other gaming consoles, CrunchyRoll joins a small number of other VOD services available on the Nintendo Switch. The app is powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine technology, and “allows users to enjoy their anime in TV mode, with their console docked and plugged into a television, in tabletop mode, which allows fans to share their anime with others, or in handheld mode, to pick up and experience with Joy-Con™ controllers attached”.
Looking for another platform to stream CrunchyRoll’s anime offerings on? A few of the compatible platforms include iOS and Android devices, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Roku, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Chromecast.
