While not what you might consider a mainstream anime title, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day is a sweet anime series which has since its release as a noitaminA series last year had a moderate sized demand for its release to the English market, a request that went out to many companies through Facebook, Live Chats and seemingly many other means. At a press event last month, Nippon Ichi Software America who publish not only games but anime releases to the North American region announced their acquisition of the series which would be released as a single-Premium Edition set this July.
The company has today announced that anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day Complete Series Premium Edition is now available for Pre-order through their online store, along with other online distributors which are open now or in the near future. This collection encompasses a total of 11 episodes on each DVD and Blu-ray, and also includes a 38-page hardcover artbook, a sturdy slipcase and some on disc extras.
Also as a bonus NISA Online Store bonus item, you will be able to receive a “The Shirt We Saw That Day” T-shirt organizer, mirroring the shirt that Jintan wears during the show and can be used to store things from pens and pencils to flowers. While obviously this is not wearable, as these sorts of things are usually modeled in some shape or form – NIS America has dressed Disgaea 2 villain Overlord Zenon in such a shirt.
The following blurb is a brief synopsis on the series:
Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past.
