NieR Re[in]carnation Launches on iOS, Android Platforms

The second smartphone game to feature the expertise of developer Yoko Taro in recent years, Square Enix and developer Applibot have released NieR Re[in]carnation onto the Android Google Play Store and iOS App Store. Following an earlier Japanese release, this makes the game available in both English and Korean for the first time. The game involves Yoko Taro as creative director, Keiichi Okabe as composer and Yosuke Saito as producer – all three being veterans of the NieR franchise.

NieR Re[in]carnation is the first mobile title in the NieR chronology, and takes place in a period of time separate to both NieR Replicant/Gestalt and NieR Automata. It is an Action Command RPG which features turn-based battles using parties composed of three characters – which can be unlocked (alongside weapons, in a similar way to SinoAlice) through the gacha system.

NieR Re[in]carnation tells the story of a girl who awakens in a mysterious place known as The Cage. Guided by a creature who calls herself Mama, the girl sets off on a journey through The Cage to reclaim what she has lost and to atone for her sins.

From now until 7 September 2021 at 5.59PM (PT), a cross-over event is being held featuring an original story crossing over the Re[in]carnation and Automata timelines. Promoted features of this update include:

Exclusive Character
2P, who originally appeared within the YoRHA: Dark Apocalypse crossover content in FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, will be exclusively available in the English/Korean version of NieR Re[in]carnation for a limited time. Players can attempt to summon her during the collaboration period.

NieR:Automata Crossover Summon
Fan-favorite characters 2B, 9S and A2 (All 4-star) are available to summon for a limited time. By performing a 10x summon, players are guaranteed a 3-star or higher weapon.

NieR:Automata Crossover Login Bonus
Players can receive the crossover exclusive “Emil Heads” weapon, simply by logging in during the campaign period.

Crossover Quests
Players can earn Automata Medals by clearing crossover quest battles, which they can exchange for event-exclusive rewards during the campaign period. Players can unlock these quests by completing chapter 2 of the Main Story
