During Sony Interactive Entertainment’s recent State of Play digital event, the development team at Toys for Bob and publisher Activision showcased a new deep-dive trailer, highlighting some of the features being incorporated into the PlayStation 5 version of 2020’s Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Some of these promoted enhancements include:
- Native 4K resolution with a target FPS of 60 FPS.
- Enhanced 3D Audio with a supported headset
- Support for the adaptive DualSense controller triggers. According to them, you will be able to “feel the force of Neo Cortex’s DNA-changing blaster, the grip of Tawna’s Hookshot, the power of Crash’s Jetboard, and really feel the suction when you vacuum with Dingodile”
- Support for the Activity Cards functionality, allowing you to track your progress towards unlocking trophies and acquiring one-hundred-and-six percent completion.
- Owners of the digital or physical versions of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on the PlayStation 4 will be eligible for a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. As usual, those with a physical PS4 copy.
Save files will be transferable from the PS4 version to the PS5 version, through the following steps:
- Before starting confirm you have an internet connection and you are logged into your PS account.
- On your PS4 navigate to the “Select a Save Slot” screen.
- Select the slot with data you want to transfer to your PS5.
- Use your controller to select Upload to cloud.
- You will get a prompt to confirm the upload, select Upload to Cloud.
- You will get a prompt indicating the upload was successful, click continue to return to the game.
- On your PS5 navigate to the “Select a Save Slot” screen.
- Select the slot you want to save your PS4 data to.
- Use your controller to select Download Cloud Save.
- You will get a prompt to confirm the download, select Download Cloud Save.
- You will get a prompt to enter your initials, enter your initials and select Next.
- You will get a prompt to select a playstyle, select Modern or Retro.
- You will get a prompt that the download was successful, select continue to return to the game.
The PlayStation 5 version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be released on 12 March 2021 for $59.99 USD, £59.99, €69.99 or local equivalent.
