Expected to be highlights of the Summer Holiday line-ups at both the Sydney Opera House and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Penn & Teller Live has, unfortunately, been postponed in both states.
The justification given for this late cancellation was that Teller underwent “urgent surgery for a back injury, which will preclude international travel for a number of weeks post-operation”. Therefore the duo was unable to make it to Australia this month. The tour was due to be the first time that magicians Penn Jillette and Teller have hosted a show in Australia during their 45 year history together.

Fortunately, you don’t have to wonder if they will or will not be rescheduling their tour. The Sydney Opera House season has been rescheduled for Tuesday 14 April – Monday 20 April and will be held at the Capitol Theatre instead. The Brisbane season has been rescheduled from Tuesday 7 April – Saturday 11 April, and will still be presented in the QPAC Concert Hall.
Those who booked tickets for the cancelled January tour should have heard back from their respective venue or ticketing provider already. If not, they should reach out to them asap to talk about options going forward.
