Following the game’s original releases on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable in North America, XSEED Games have confirmed they will be bringing the hack-and-slash action RPG, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim on the Windows PC later this year. This game will be available via both the Steam digital distribution platform in addition to the Humble Store and GOG.com.
This PC edition will feature the original graphics style and USB controller support, in addition to other brand-new features exclusive to the PC release. XSEED claim that these features are being included into the PC version with an aim of modernizing its gameplay experience to be more in line with later Ys entries. These features include full widescreen support, the ability to warm among checkpoints and an optional “Catastrophe Mode” where healing items cannot be purchased or stored and are instead used automatically on pickup.
Developed by Nihon Falcom, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim is set to be available Worldwide from later this year.
