Upcoming Otome Game Battlefield Waltz Set for Release in April 2025

Idea Factory International has announced that their English localisation of otome visual novel Battlefield Waltz is scheduled to release both physically and digitally for the Nintendo Switch on 8 April 2025, in North America and Europe. Originally launched in Japan for the PlayStation Vita in 2014, this release will mark the game’s first appearance in Western markets.

Key promoted features of Battlefield Waltz include:

Love Blooms on the Battlefield on the Go! – Players can now explore the journey of Lan, the Maiden of the Cursed Sword, on the Nintendo Switch, marking the Western debut of this otome visual novel experience.

Explore New Frontiers and Nirvana! – Through Map Exploration, players can interact with characters and uncover information exclusive to two distinct areas: the Royal Capital Frontier and Nirvana School.

Chronicles of the Maiden of the Cursed Sword – Chronicle mode allows players to track their current route, revisit scenes, find missed paths, or replay favourite moments. The feature also enables starting gameplay from previously played sections within a route.

Ancient Memories Shine Like a Gem! – Meeting in-game conditions unlocks Ancient Memories, a book encrusted with gems that light up with each achieved good ending. Collecting all good endings unveils secrets hidden within the magical sword.

About Battlefield Waltz

A girl loses everything, all in one day. Her village, and even worse—her father…

In their place, she acquires a new power.
When she takes up a sword to protect herself and her loved ones, she discovers that it is “cursed” and holds immense power.

Having obtained something that could shake the very foundations of the nation, the girl has no choice but to live on the battlefield.

The ultra-nationalistic military academy, Nirvana, becomes her new home. There, young men and women who excel in combat gather to compete and sharpen their skills, regardless of their background.

She meets new people, forges strong bonds, and finds what she thought she’d lost: a place to belong.

This is the story of the girl and the talking cursed sword by her side.
