Aksys Games has announced that the visual novel Tales from Toyotoki: Arrival of the Witch (Also known as Ihanashi no Majo or イハナシの魔女) is now available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. This follow’s the visual novel’s original release on the PC via Steam back in 2022 by developer Fragaria, which as of writing boasts a Very Positive review score average out of 491 votes.
Arrival of the Witch follows the story of Hikaru, a young man who finds himself homeless and stranded on the mysterious island of Toyotoki. While navigating the island’s many challenges, including avoiding dangerous wildlife and navigating the stern local committees, Hikaru meets a witch in a similar predicament. The pair join forces, attempting not only to survive but to thrive on the secluded island, which is rich in ancient traditions and shrouded in mystery.
As their journey unfolds, Hikaru and the witch encounter various island locals, including a spirited local beauty, a proud heiress, a clumsy salesperson, and a manga-enthusiast delinquent. Each character is on their own journey of self-discovery, and together they strive to uncover the secrets of Toyotoki Island while seeking personal growth and understanding.
In addition to the original narrative, the Nintendo Switch and PC ports of Tales from Toyotoki: Arrival of the Witch also features the inclusion of an Append Story and behind-the-scenes commentary from the creative team, both of which were originally released as DLC on Steam.
