The residents of a small village are about to discover their mail carrier is paying a little too much attention. Tom the Postgirl, a narrative adventure co-produced by French cultural media company ARTE France and independent studio Oopsie Daisies, will be released on 29 October 2026 for PC and Mac via Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch.
Players follow Tom, a mischievous postgirl whose delivery rounds rarely go to plan. Dropping off parcels is the job, but peering into the lives of the people receiving them is what Tom is really interested in. Windows, doors and gaps in walls all offer a way to see what villagers do once their packages are behind closed doors, and every resident is hiding something. Among the locals are a self-obsessed mayor, an orphanage with an uncomfortable resemblance to a dog kennel and a pair of hippies armed with chainsaws. The villagers are not the only subjects worth watching. The village is also home to pigeons dealing drugs in the cemetery, cowboy earthworms and some bad-tempered squirrels.
How players approach each round is up to them. Tom can stick to delivering the mail, or go out of her way to cause trouble by trampling neatly trimmed hedges, flattening flowerbeds and stealing garden gnomes. Spying, sabotage and general chaos are all options, with Tom keeping up the appearance of a model postgirl throughout. The game is presented with frame-by-frame animation and hand-drawn backgrounds, with hiding spots throughout the village for observing residents. Replaying the game is designed to reveal details missed the first time around, and players can choose to be more or less mischievous to uncover each villager’s secrets. Tom the Postgirl includes multiple endings, along with achievements and unlockable profiles.
Tom the Postgirl releases on 29 October 2026 on Steam for PC and Mac, and on Nintendo Switch.
