Plush toys fight for a second chance at life in Plushie Party. Swedish indie studio Mana Brigade has announced the high-intensity multiplayer party game, coming to Steam and built on Gemu, an engine from a Swedish start-up.
The game is set in an abandoned arcade, where battered plushies compete in an underground game show run by host Party Party Parrot. The stakes are high: winners are fully restored and sent off to a loving new home, while losers are dropped into a shredder and turned into stuffing. There is no second place.
Two to six players can compete online across more than 15 fast-paced survival mini-games, each set inside retro arcade cabinets filled with collapsing floors and sudden-death traps. Matches focus on quick rounds, drop-in eliminations, and instant rematches.
The developers pitch physics as playing a big part in the action. Soft-body destruction means heavy hits can tear plushies at the seams, with defeated toys bursting into loose stuffing, while stages crumble around players and the environment bounces and reacts to the chaos.
