Hypnos is about to leave Early Access. Redlock Studio’s surreal narrative exploration game will receive its full 1.0 release on 29 October, after five months in Early Access. While it’s only available on PC for now, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also planned for later in 2026.
Players explore the Nameless City in search of a mysterious boy who appears in their dreams. Along the way, they encounter an unusual cast of dreamers, spirits and otherworldly creatures. Players find their own way through the semi-open world and can interact with their surroundings, reshaping the substance of dreams and changing the City as they go.
The 1.0 release includes all seven chapters, more areas to explore and characters to meet, and four alternate endings that depend on what players do, or do not do, during their journey. Branching dialogue and choices affect the fate of the Far Reaches’ inhabitants.
Hypnos is set in Redlock Studio’s Maze Chronicles universe and follows the studio’s previous game, Blackshard. It keeps the atmospheric focus of the series while adding branching storylines. French multimedia artist and composer ALT236 created the soundtrack, which blends ambient, retro, and dreamlike electronic music.
