Aspiring managers can take Football Manager 27 for a test run without paying a cent. Sports Interactive has announced that the FM27 Launch Preview will be free to play on PC and Mac from 4am AEDT on 29 October 2026 until 4am AEDT on 3 November 2026.
The free period covers Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, and all game modes are included. No sign-up is needed, so players can simply download the game from their preferred platform and get started. Sports Interactive believes this is the first time an annual title has been made free to play with every mode available, describing it as part of its ongoing efforts to support its community.
Pre-purchases for FM27 will open at the same time as the free play period, with a 10% discount. Those who pre-purchase will keep access to the Launch Preview from 3 November until the game’s full release on 10 November, while Game Pass subscribers can continue playing through their subscription. Progress carries over at every stage, from the free period to the paid Launch Preview and into the full game, so there is no need to start a save again.
FM27 brings an updated interface with simpler navigation, aimed at making the experience more immersive. New features include Tactical Tweaks, Tactical Effectiveness and customisable Continue Flow, alongside improved Match Day visuals, the return of several features and more familiar behaviours.
