Players can take one more trip to Sarkis before Everlast: Undying Tale arrives in Early Access. The “MMO-lite action-adventure RPG” has a demo available during Steam Next Fest, ahead of its Early Access launch on Steam on 28 October 2026.
The game seeks to draw upon elements of classic MMOs, packed into an action RPG with 100-player servers. It can be played solo, with a small group of friends or on larger open servers. Players are brought back to life in Sarkis by Adon of Bythos, the embodiment of death, and must find a new purpose while repaying their debt to him by fighting back against the rise of the mysterious undying.
The story unfolds through deeds both large and small. Players uncover the secrets of the world and their own curse through its cast of characters, whether that means communing with the dead, tracking down arcane items for friendly monsters or helping townsfolk with everyday jobs on their farms and in their shops.
Sarkis aims to be a bright, open fantasy world with a range of landscapes, from the busy capital of Kal Crossing to the gloomy Southern Swamps, and hidden areas and points of interest reward those who stray from the main path. Progression is built around 16 skills, including woodworking, occultism and fishing, which feed into better gear, more efficient resource gathering, combat and story progress. Resources gathered along the way can be used to craft everything players need.
Server-wide events give players a shared goal, with everything from large harvests to major battles helping to restore a world that has fallen into ruin. These events are triggered by players, appear on the in-game map and quest tracker, and let everyone contribute as much or as little as they like.
Further content updates are planned after launch, with trading, duelling and larger boss fights on the way.
