Honeycomb: The World Beyond Launches On 8 September 2026

Polish game developer Frozen Way has announced that Honeycomb: The World Beyond will launch on 8 September 2026, with a playable demo scheduled to arrive shortly beforehand on 31 August 2026. The game will be released on each the PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Set on the uninhabited alien world of Sota7, Honeycomb: The World Beyond combines exploration, survival, base building and bioengineering as players undertake a scientific mission connected to restoring Earth’s ecosystem. Sota7 features a variety of environments to explore, including forests, jungles, open fields and areas surrounding a mysterious volcano. Exploration plays an important role in understanding the planet and its ecosystem. Players will gather samples, collect resources and study the plants and animals found across Sota7, using their discoveries to support further research.

Bioengineering mechanics allow players to experiment with the planet’s flora and fauna, including crossbreeding different species to create new life forms. Research conducted on Sota7 could potentially uncover species with characteristics useful for addressing ecological problems back on Earth. Players will also establish a modular base that serves as both a refuge and scientific facility. New rooms and corridors can be added as requirements change, with the base’s visual design drawing inspiration from natural forms associated with Art Nouveau. At the centre of the base is a laboratory where collected samples can be analysed and new equipment constructed. Players can also cultivate plants inside the facility, providing both decoration and resources that can contribute to survival.

Beyond its research systems, Honeycomb: The World Beyond will require players to manage resources while exploring an unfamiliar environment. Different biomes contain their own plants, animals and materials, encouraging players to investigate the planet while remaining prepared for its potential dangers.
