Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 And Bounty Pack 5 to Launch Next Month

2K and Gearbox Software have detailed the next major wave of downloadable content for Borderlands 4, with Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort and Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows both scheduled to launch on 10 September 2026 as part of the Version 1.10 update.

Story Pack 2 will introduce Providence, a new island zone where a tropical resort built for the Timekeeper’s chosen has become the centre of a conflict over Ordonite. The Tediore corporation has dispatched an expeditionary force to secure the resource, led by five elite managers serving Lieutenant Harmony.

Players will join returning Borderlands 3 character FL4K as they attempt to rescue their skag companion Mr. Chew and confront Tediore’s forces across the island. Enemies include troops equipped with exo suits that can continue fighting after their organic components have been eliminated, alongside large mechs capable of using different weapon attachments, strengthening allies and digistructing reinforcements. Lieutenant Harmony is based inside Providence’s active volcano, which Tediore has converted into a bunker. Volcanic activity also plays a role across the zone, with Ordonite infused lava and falling molten rocks creating new world events that can spawn miniboss encounters.

Providence has been designed around increased vertical movement, including the introduction of ziplines. Players will be able to grapple onto ziplines above the jungle canopy to reach new locations, establish different combat positions and move across the environment. Another Providence specific activity allows players to upload into Tediore’s digiverse servers and fight waves of enemies before those forces can materialise in the physical world. Story Pack 2 will also add new equipment to collect, including two Pearlescent weapons and 18 pieces of Legendary gear.

Arriving alongside the new zone is Loveless the Hacker, the second additional Vault Hunter announced for Borderlands 4. Loveless is a former Anshin hacker turned assassin who uses advanced cybernetics and shares her mind with a digital virus of her own creation. The virus can be digistructed into a physical form and used as an extension of Loveless in combat.

Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows will follow a separate storyline focused on the instability affecting Kairos following the arrival of the Elpis moon. Amara has traced Phase disturbances to one of Vile Lictor’s former laboratories, where Order Synths that previously served him remain dormant. Players will work alongside Amara to investigate the disturbances and stop them from spreading.

The mission will revisit both Elpis and the Phase dimension connecting all Sirens, while expanding on Siren lore within the Borderlands universe. The story will also explore Amara’s concern that her connection to the Phase may have been permanently disrupted. Completing the Bounty Pack 5 mission will unlock a Vault Hunter Skin usable across all Vault Hunters, a Vehicle and an ECHO 4 Drone Skin. The pack will also introduce a new boss, two minibosses and new Vile enemy types, with rewards including one Pearlescent weapon and six pieces of Legendary loot.

Bounty Pack 5: Vault Card 5 will be available separately from the narrative content. It will offer 24 cosmetic items and four pieces of rerollable gear that can be earned through gameplay. Story Pack 2, Loveless the Hacker and Bounty Pack 5 will all launch with Borderlands 4 Version 1.10 on 10 September. The update will also increase the maximum level cap by 10 levels for all players.

Gearbox and 2K are also changing how some earlier DLC can be purchased. From 10 September, the individual components of Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 will be available separately, extending an approach that was previously offered for DLC beginning with Bounty Pack 3.

Players on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S who already own either component of Story Pack 1 or Bounty Pack 2 will need to visit the relevant individual listings on their platform storefront and redownload the content from 10 September as part of the change.
