Providing even more content for players of Hearthstone to dive into, Blizzard Entertainment has launched the latest expansion for the game – Escape from Violet Hold. This update provides 135 new collectible cards to add to your collection. And thankfully, there is no lining up in queues at the wee hours of the morning or battling scalper bots to get your hands on them.
The jailbreak themed expansion centres on Vanessa VanCleef as she leads a breakout from Azeroth’s maximum security prison, Violet Hold. As part of that theme, each class receives its own Legendary Rulebreaker minion, with these cards designed to challenge core Hearthstone mechanics in different ways.
Escape from Violet Hold also introduces Prepare, a new keyword focused on setting up future turns. Players can drag a Prepare card into their deck and spend their remaining mana to discount that card by the amount spent, plus one, allowing it to be played later at a reduced cost.
Disguised minions add another new option, allowing players to place minions on their opponent’s board for the first time in Hearthstone. These cards can either be played normally for their own benefit, or sent across the board to interfere with the opponent’s plans.
The expansion also includes Bribe cards, which give the player a strong effect, but in turn also providing something in return to their opponent.
