GRYPHLINE has announced that the next major update for their action-RPG and factory-building simulation game title Arknights: Endfield will be available as a free content update on 5 June 2026. Titled ‘Sketches of Lost Heirlooms’, this patch will bring a combination of fresh story chapters, additional playable units, and several system adjustments based on community feedback.
The narrative component of the update will open up a new region known as the Sword Vault Dale. Within these long-lost ruins, players will navigate floating cliffs and broken structures to uncover the secrets of the Lost Heirlooms alongside a faction called the Wuling Watch.
Two new characters will join the playable roster during this patch cycle. The first half of the patch cycle will feature Mi Fu, the captain of the Wuling Watch, will be available when the update launches on 5 June 2026. Her storyline, titled A Fistful of Reflections, follows a revenge mission against her former masters. In combat, she is a high-mobility Physical Guard capable of executing four consecutive basic attacks and chaining her Battle Skills with her Ultimate.
Camille will be added at a later date. Working as a Keeper for Seš’qa, his standalone event Danse Macabre involves a grim criminal investigation sparked by an anonymous blood sample. On the battlefield, Camille functions as a Heat Vanguard who boosts squad skill rotations and grants team combo effects.
The update will also implement the Contingency Contract game mode into Arknights: Endfield. Originating from the broader franchise, this challenge mode allows players to manually adjust the difficulty of their encounters. By selecting specific Test Criterion and Key Criteria modifiers, tacticians can apply a mixture of positive and negative battlefield conditions to test their team compositions and strategies.
Several system optimizations have been outlined for both the factory and progression mechanics. The factory simulation will receive a Backup Power function to prevent blackouts and an automated system to resolve blockages across multiple recipes. Inventory management will be streamlined with the addition of Bulk Artificing for gear, Weapon Batch Dismantling, Lock Management, and a Perfect Match indicator for essence farming. Furthermore, the user interface will feature improved off-screen enemy attack warnings, seamless switching between controller and keyboard setups, and an updated Daily Task system designed for quicker completion.
Light Zhong, the Game Producer of Arknights: Endfield, commented on the development team’s ongoing efforts to refine the title and their desire to deliver meaningful improvements to the community, sharing:
We can’t help but feel proud because continuous polishing and non-stop optimization truly can bring everyone a better gameplay experience. ‘Actions speak louder than words’ is a principle we have never changed. We hope that every piece of game content we release, and every optimization measure we implement, can speak on our behalf and repay the trust of all our Endministrators.
