CD PROJEKT RED has released a free technical update for Cyberpunk 2077, bringing dedicated support for the PlayStation 5 Pro console. While coming quite some time after Sony Interactive Entertainment released the console, this update is designed to utilize the specific hardware capabilities of the system to improve both the visual presentation and the overall performance of the open world role playing game.
The new features focus on three primary areas: image upscaling, ray tracing, and frame rate stability. Through the use of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), the game aims to deliver higher visual fidelity and sharper textures. The update also introduces advanced ray tracing features that leverage the console’s hardware to provide greater immersion during gameplay.
Users can now navigate the game world using three separate graphics modes. Performance Mode prioritizes the highest available frame rate for those who prefer fluid motion. Conversely, Ray Tracing Pro enables the full range of graphical enhancements for players seeking the most detailed environment possible. A standard Ray Tracing mode serves as a balanced option, offering a middle ground between visual quality and performance.
