Square Enix has officially released Life Is Strange: Reunion, the latest installment in its narrative-driven adventure franchise. Developed by Deck Nine Games, the title is positioned as the conclusion to the long-running storyline involving protagonists Max Caulfield and Chloe Price.
The narrative returns players to Caledon University, where Max Caulfield is currently employed as a photography teacher. Upon returning from a brief absence, Max discovers the campus is being consumed by a major fire. To survive the initial destruction and attempt to save those on campus, Max must employ her signature Rewind power, which allows her to reverse time and manipulate her surroundings.

The story introduces Chloe Price back into the narrative following the timeline-merging events of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. In this version of reality, Chloe is depicted as experiencing psychological distress from memories of a past she does not recognize. The duo must work together to investigate the mystery behind the fire and prevent the total destruction of the university.
A significant shift in gameplay for this entry allows players to control both Max and Chloe within the same game. Max’s sections focus on using her time-reversal abilities to solve puzzles and change the trajectory of dialogue. Chloe’s gameplay brings back the Backtalk mechanic, relying on her wits and attitude to extract information from suspects and navigate areas Max cannot reach.
Life Is Strange: Reunion is currently available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Windows Store.
