Japanese developer Colopl has announced that Kazuma Kaneko’s Tsukuyomi is set to release on the Nintendo Switch eShop on 23 April 2026. The title will be available digitally with an MSRP of $24.99 / £24.99 / €24.99. This exclusive Nintendo Switch release seeks to combine the elements of a strategic deck-building RPG with the exploration mechanics of a tower dungeon roguelike – complemented by a visual direction led by industry artist Kazuma Kaneko.
The narrative of Kazuma Kaneko’s Tsukuyomi takes place within “The Hashira,” a modern skyscraper located in the Tokyo Bay area. The facility has been sealed off by a barrier created by its owner, Noriko Tomi. Players assume the roles of four distinct “Jinma Hunters” tasked with navigating the demon-infested floors of the tower. Each of the four playable hunters offers a unique gameplay style, requiring players to customize and outfit different decks to suit specific combat situations.
The game is a reborn version of Tsukuyomi – The Divine Hunters, which was originally released in 2025 for mobile and PC platforms. This new Switch iteration is an offline title and includes several enhancements over the original release, such as:
- A brand-new character.
- Expanded story elements.
- An updated user interface.
- Rebalanced gameplay.
The game features 3,600 cards. In the original mobile game, these cards were created using a generative AI model called “AI Kaneko,” which was trained on Kazuma Kaneko’s art and generated images based on player actions. For this Nintendo Switch version, the cards were chosen in collaboration with the community from the original game. Colopl has clarified that the Switch version does not utilize generative AI to create new cards during gameplay.
In conjunction with this announcement, Colopl confirmed that the original Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter for mobile and PC has begun its sunsetting process. Support for those platforms will end on 21 April 2026. Existing players of the mobile and PC versions can transfer data to the Switch release. By logging into the Tsukuyomi – The Divine Hunters app and generating a unique passcode, players can bring three randomly selected cards from their favorites list into the new Nintendo Switch version.
