First released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC back in 2017, Atari and Digital Eclipse have announced that an updated version of The Disney Afternoon Collection is scheduled to launch physically for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 29 May 2026 – and digitally much earlier on 26 February 2026 via the Nintendo eShop.
This release brings a selection of classic Disney-themed games to Nintendo hardware, marking the first time these titles have been available on the company’s consoles since their original releases on the NES and SNES.
This updated collection is exclusive to the Switch family of systems and expands upon the original compilation release. Two SNES titles, Bonkers and Goof Troop, have been added to the roster, bringing the total number of games to eight. Goof Troop is a co-op puzzle adventure noted for being one of Shinji Mikami’s early works, while Bonkers is a platformer set within Toontown.
These new additions join the six NES titles that comprised the original collection: DuckTales, DuckTales 2, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck.
The collection includes a suite of emulation features designed to modernize the experience. Players will have access to a Rewind function to correct gameplay mistakes, as well as the ability to save progress at any point. For the six NES titles specifically, the game includes Time Attack and Boss Rush modes, which are integrated with online leaderboards.
Beyond the playable titles, the software functions as a virtual museum. A Gallery mode, curated by historians at Digital Eclipse, offers behind-the-scenes materials and archival content from the Disney vault. A Music Player is also included, allowing users to listen to the original soundtracks for all eight games.
The physical release of The Disney Afternoon Collection will come with several physical items. In addition to the game cartridge, the package includes sticker sheets, postcards, milk caps, and a reversible cover. Pre-orders are available now through major retailers.
