HoYoverse has announced the upcoming release of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8, titled ‘Memories are the Prelude to Dreams’. Following the conclusion of the Amphoreus story arc, this update redirects the narrative focus back to Penacony before the Astral Express moves on to its next major destination in Version 4.0.
The premise of Version 3.8 revolves around the revelation that the Trailblazer’s memories of their time in Penacony are incomplete, with key segments having been stolen. To rectify this, players will interact with a new character, Constance “The Dahlia”, to piece together the true timeline of events.
The narrative delivery in this update includes a shift in perspective. The story will explore the experiences of the character Firefly, detailing her initial entry into the dreamscape, her history as a Glamoth Iron Cavalry Knight, and the events leading up to her meeting with the Trailblazer. This storyline will introduce new locations, including The Family’s seat of power and the Dream of Gnawing Oak.
Constance “The Dahlia” joins the roster as a playable five-star character following the Path of Nihility. In terms of lore, she is identified as the daughter of Duke Inferno and possesses abilities related to the Remembrance, specifically the fabrication and enkindling of memories. Mechanically, Constance is designed to synergize with teams focused on Break DMG. Her kit allows her to deploy a specific zone on the battlefield; while active, allies can trigger Super Break DMG even before an enemy’s weakness is fully broken. She utilizes a “Dance Partner” mechanic, linking with a teammate to deal additional Super Break DMG upon attacking. Her Ultimate ability applies the elemental weakness of her Dance Partner to all enemies, aiming to increase the efficiency of Toughness Reduction.
In addition to the main scenario content, Version 3.8 is set to introduce two new limited-time events. The “Chrysos Awoo Championship” casts the Trailblazer as a trainer of chimeras, tasked with building a team to compete for a championship title. For players seeking combat-focused content, “Remnants of Twilight” offers a series of strategic battle challenges.
