Tokyo indie studio Onion Games has confirmed that the English language worldwide release of RPG Stray Children will arrive on 30 October 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Stray Children follows a curious boy who flips on a dusty console and is pulled into a never released retro RPG. He wakes in a realm inhabited by Children, while the wilderness beyond is stalked by the Olders, monstrous adults shaped by insecurity and self doubt. The journey unfolds across a world that pairs offbeat humor with lurking danger.
Turn based encounters allow players to either or both fight or talk their way through conflict. Alongside standard attacks, words can be used as weapons to break through bottled up emotions and uncover hidden truths. By reaching an enemy’s heart with carefully chosen dialogue, it may be possible to save them rather than defeat them outright.
