Blizzard will open the Season 11 Public Test Realm for Diablo IV on 22 October 2025 on PC via Battle.net. The test focuses on permanent changes to itemization, monster behavior and progression, while previewing Season 11’s theme that centers on Sanctification and the return of Diablo’s Lesser Evils led by Azmodan.
Sanctification introduces a new way to infuse items with divine strength. Players can apply bonus legendary powers and additional affixes to tailor gear more precisely. Item upgrades are also being reworked through Tempering and Masterworking. Tempering lets players select specific affixes via recipes, while Masterworking raises an item’s overall quality to support late game builds.
Monster combat has been revised to make encounters more readable and tactical. Enemies are assigned clearer battlefield roles, affix variety has been expanded, and monsters react more dynamically to player actions. The changes are intended to affect everything from open world skirmishes to endgame dungeons.
The Lesser Evils will be active across multiple activities during the PTR. Azmodan debuts as a new world boss that can be summoned via Beacons. Duriel corrupts Helltide with parasitic maggots and new summoning methods. Belial manipulates The Pit using illusions, Eyes of Belial and boss replacements. Andariel haunts the Kurast Undercity with time draining Shades and dungeon affixes.
A beta version of The Tower and Leaderboards will also be available. The Tower is a timed, multi floor challenge that leans on the revamped monster systems. Players have ten minutes to clear randomized floors, defeat a final boss and secure a place on the leaderboard, with the feature set to evolve over future seasons.
Of course, if you want to continue playing, there is no obligation or requirement for current players to access the PTRs, and can continue playing normally until Season 11 officially goes live on the main servers.
