Fellow Traveller and Paper Castle Games have released their anime inspired RPG Wander Stars on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
Wander Stars follows Ringo, a young martial artist searching for her missing brother, who teams up with the enigmatic Wolfe across ten television style episodes. Framed as a throwback to Saturday morning cartoons and 1990s anime such as Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece, the adventure picks up pieces of the Wanderstar map and leans on themes of found family while its Kiai martial arts system rewards honour alongside strength.
Combat uses a word based, turn based structure that builds techniques from vocabulary found during the journey. Players combine more than 200 discoverable words to create attacks like Fire! Smash! or defensive options such as Phantom! Guard!, while weighing strengths, weaknesses and tactics to overcome rivals who can sometimes be persuaded to become allies.
On Steam the game is discounted by 10 percent for launch week. Meanwhile, all purchases on Steam made before 2 October 2025 will see the game include two extras at no additional cost: a 40 page Digital Sketchbook featuring concept art by Andie Gallo and Kay Dominguez, and an Original Soundtrack of 55 tracks by Sayth Vashra and Stijn van Wakeren that draws from 1980s Japanese musical genres.
