TAITO has released QQQbeats!!! on the Nintendo eShop as a download-only title for Nintendo Switch. Pronounced “Kyukyukyubeats”, this new original project seeks to blend some of the studio’s mainline gameplay mechanics into an experience that fuses bubble-shooting puzzle play with straightforward rhythm inputs.
Positioned as a rhythmic puzzle hybrid, QQQbeats!!! pairs TAITO’s bubble mechanics with button prompts synced to music. The launch version includes 56 tracks spanning anime and pop, VTuber and virtual singer selections, Touhou Project arrangements, variety picks, and original compositions, with paid DLC planned on a regular cadence.
Highlighted songs include anime and pop tracks such as “Hai Yorokonde” by Kocchi no Kento, “Show” by Ado, and “MIXEDNUTS” by Official Hige Dandism. VTuber selections on offer include Hoshimachi Suisei’s “BIBBIDIBA“, Shirakami Fubuki’s “Say! Fanfare!“, and Mori Calliope’s “HUGE W.”
Virtual singer entries include “Tell Your World” by livetune feat. Hatsune Miku, “Mesmerizer” by 32ki, and “Charles” by Balloon. Touhou arrangements include “Bad Apple!! feat. nomico” by Masayoshi Minoshima, “Night of Knights” by beatMARIO, and “Charismatic Purgatory Goddess” by Shinra-Bansho.
Variety and originals round things out with tracks like “Re: End of a Dream (long ver.)” by uma vs. Morimori Atsushi, “Cheatreal” by t+pazolite, “Big Daddy” by USAO, “Love Colors” by Snail’s House, “Ready Set Q!!!” by Ceena and Ame with IOSYS, and “Black Priestess” by REDALiCE.
Three modes are available across solo and two-player options, both online and offline, with competitive and co-op play supported. Story mode introduces the influencer duo Ceena and Ame of “Pupiccolo” who return to streaming after a suspension and work through stages that unlock additional characters and songs as the narrative progresses.
Versus mode supports one-on-one battles. Online, players can pick Ranked, Casual, or Private matches. Offline choices include Local Battles, which utilise two devices, Share-the-Device for two players on a single system, and solo COM Battles. There are 16 playable characters at launch, including collaboration guests, each with distinct traits that can influence match flow.
Co-op arrives under the DUOps banner, letting two players team up online or offline to clear stages together. Clearing DUOps content pays out more BeatCoin, the in-game currency used across unlocks and progression, which makes the mode a straightforward way to build up resources while accommodating mixed skill levels.
Collaborations extend to the roster. Playable guest characters include Hatsune Miku, Kasane Teto, Shirakami Fubuki, Mori Calliope, Reimu Hakurei, and Marisa Kirisame. TAITO notes that additional content will arrive as paid DLC.
