Sega and developer Lizardcube have released a playable demo for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, giving fans an early chance to test their ninja reflexes before the full game launches on 29 August. The side-scrolling action title marks the return of series icon Joe Musashi, now rendered in Lizardcube’s hand-drawn art style.
Available today via the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop, the demo covers the opening stage, Oboro Village. Players can dispatch enemies, navigate traditional platforming traps, and experiment with a handful of combat abilities that are normally unlocked later in the campaign. After a first clear, the stage can be revisited in Arcade Mode to chase higher scores and uncover hidden routes. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance promises a robust moveset, smooth animation, and large-scale boss encounters that reward quick reactions and study of enemy patterns.
Pre-orders are open for both platforms. Early purchasers will receive two in-game bonuses: the Original Arcade Outfit and the Fortune Hunter Amulet, the latter offering an in-game boost to item discovery.
