RingZero Game Studio has announced Chief Surgeon Simulator, a new simulation game that hands players not only the scalpel but also the keys to the entire hospital. Launching later this year on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, the title sets out to blend first-person surgery with management mechanics, challenging players to juggle high-stakes operations and big-picture decision-making.
Chief Surgeon Simulator will see players will step into the dual role of hands-on surgeon and chief hospital administrator. You’ll follow patients from their arrival at the hospital, through triage and diagnosis, and – when needed – straight into the operating theatre for direct control over surgical procedures. Off the surgical table, responsibilities expand to include recruiting and training staff, building out new departments, and upgrading the hospital’s technology to improve patient outcomes and bolster your reputation.
Surgical authenticity is a stated priority. Dr. T.F. D’Amore contributed feedback on the game’s design, aiming to balance a sense of medical realism with an experience accessible enough for newcomers to enjoy. Commenting on this, he shared:
I worked with the development team to ensure the procedures feel authentic without overwhelming players, striking a thoughtful balance between realism and fun.
Chief Surgeon Simulator offers two modes for players:
- Story Mode presents a narrative-driven campaign filled with missions and escalating challenges.
- Sandbox Mode provides open-ended hospital management for those who prefer creative freedom and experimentation.
The game’s reputation system means that success hinges not only on surgical skill but also on running an efficient, well-regarded hospital. Delivering great care translates into positive reviews, which in turn influence your funding, staff recruitment, and ability to expand.
