Zenless Zone Zero, the urban fantasy action RPG developed by HoYoverse, has today received its official Version 2.0 release. Marking the official launch of Season 2 and its debut on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming, Version 2.0 – titled Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn – introduces a most significant post-launch expansion to gameplay, content, and platform availability postlaunch.
At the heart of this update is the new Waifei Peninsula region, where Proxies will journey alongside High Preceptor Yixuan of Yunkui Summit. This district within New Eridu offers a range of interactive features, including managing the Suibian Temple and exploring the bustling city of Failume Heights, renowned for its vibrant marketplaces and proximity to the resource-rich but hazardous Lemnian Hollow.
Gameplay additions include a new Hollow exploration system that introduces Ether-based mechanics and environmental hazards. Combat will become more intense within Miasmic Fields, which enhance enemy strength. To counter this, new characters will join the roster. Yixuan, an S-Rank Agent with the Auric Ink attribute and Rupture specialty, uses a dual-ultimate system powered by a unique Adrenaline resource.
She is joined by Ju Fufu, an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent capable of enhancing team critical damage, as well as Pan Yinhu, a panda-themed A-Rank Physical Defense Agent, and Belion, an S-Rank Bangboo. Returning characters as part of the Version 2.0 update include S-Rank Agents Astra Yao and Caesar.
Additional gameplay features include new commissions in Hollow Zero: Lost Void, expanded gear options, and special time-limited events. In Gravitational Attraction, players can watch films with in-game characters to earn rewards such as the A-Rank W-Engine Reel Projector. Meanwhile, Soul of Steel: Golden Bond lets players pilot mechs into Hollow challenges.
Version 2.0 also improves quality of life with a new 3D map, enhanced navigation systems, and Fissure Beacons that facilitate faster recovery and travel. New players will be able to jump straight into the Season 2 storyline upon completing Season 1’s Chapter 2 Interlude.
To commemorate the game’s first anniversary, HoYoverse is offering a variety of in-game bonuses. Players will be able to claim one free S-Rank Agent and one free S-Rank W-Engine from the Stable Channel, alongside 1,600 Polychromes, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, 10 Boopons, and exclusive outfits, titles, and avatars.
Originally available on PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android, Zenless Zone Zero will expand its reach with the Xbox release. An Xbox-exclusive Starter Pack is currently available for purchase.
