Polish developer Jujubee has announced Space Inn, a narrative management simulator in development for Steam. While a release date is yet to be confirmed, the title aims to offer players a fresh twist on the life-sim genre by inviting players to run a tavern at the far reaches of the galaxy.
Space Inn places players in charge of a dilapidated bar on a forgotten orbital station. Rather than embarking on a world-saving quest, the focus is on small-scale stories: serving unconventional guests, preparing peculiar space meals, and gathering tales from a cast of interstellar travellers. The daily routine is defined less by heroics and more by the challenge of not burning recycled dumplings – though no one seems certain how they should taste in the first place.
The game promises a mix of management and narrative-driven gameplay. Players can customise and expand their establishment, forge relationships with station residents, and influence the lives of patrons through conversation and choices. The setting seeks to combine elements of a space western with a colourful roster of characters, aiming to balance humour with more thoughtful stories about loneliness, hope, and the search for community.
According to Jujubee, Space Inn is currently being developed for PC via Steam, with potential plans for additional platforms in the future, including the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
