GS2 Games and Funbox Media have announced a collaboration with Feardemic to bring a series of horror games to physical retail, starting from 29 August 2025. This initiative will make several of Feardemic’s psychological and survival horror titles available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch players in boxed editions, kicking off with Afterdream, Anglerfish, and Tales from Candleforth.
Following this initial release, three additional PlayStation 5 titles are planned for later in the year. These include Project Nightmares Case 36: Henrietta Kedward and Remorse: The List on 26 September, and Burnhouse Lane on 25 November. A collector’s edition bundle titled the Psychological Horror Bundle is also on the way, comprising Burnhouse Lane, No Son of Mine, and Dagon: Complete Edition. The bundle is set for release on 31 October 2025, and will be available for both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, just in time for Halloween. These physical releases will be distributed through retailers including GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon.
Each of the games seek to offer a distinct experience within the horror genre, blending stylised art, storytelling, and gameplay mechanics. Below is an overview of the three games headlining the retail initiative.
Anglerfish takes place in a remote bar nestled in the Mols Mountains, where players are drawn into a bizarre, looping survival horror experience. The game resets with each death – but not without consequence. Each time players perish, the game world reshapes itself in response, leading to an unpredictable and evolving gameplay structure. Featuring pixel art visuals, dark humour, and fast-paced action involving a shotgun, Anglerfish presents an unorthodox combination of beauty and dread.

Afterdream, from the creator of Distraint, offers a side-scrolling 2D psychological horror journey through a dreamlike realm. Players explore a surreal mansion filled with ghosts, armed with a mysterious camera that reveals hidden objects and alternate perspectives. The game blends atmospheric music, minimalist interface design, and Finnish craftsmanship to create a subdued but unsettling adventure that plays with perception and memory.

Tales from Candleforth introduces players to a collection of fairy tales contaminated by a forbidden book’s sinister influence. The narrative follows 16-year-old Sarah, who is left to manage her family’s apothecary following her grandmother’s unexplained disappearance. As she uncovers inherited supernatural abilities, Sarah is pulled into a tale of occultism and family secrets. With hand-drawn 2D animation, folk horror themes, and puzzle-solving mechanics typical of classic point-and-click adventures, the game offers a dark, story-rich experience.
