Indie publisher Firenut Games, in partnership with developer Digital Dream, has announced Baptiste, a psychological horror title set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game invites players to experience an unsettling narrative where the line between reality and nightmare steadily unravels, and horror fans are being offered a chance to shape its development through an upcoming Kickstarter campaign launching in the coming months. A demo for the game is already live on Steam.
Baptiste follows Sara and her son Tom as they attempt to rebuild their lives after tragedy, relocating to the windswept isolation of Jagged Shore Cliff in the United Kingdom. Their hopes for a new beginning are quickly dashed as the house reveals its true nature. A locked cabinet containing a peculiar doll – Baptiste – warns: “Never release this from its glass prison.” What was meant to be a refuge instead becomes the epicentre of their worst fears, as the family is pulled into events that defy explanation and test the very limits of their sanity.
Players step into the role of Tom, a young man wrestling with grief and increasingly haunted by the spectres of his past. The mansion at Jagged Shore Cliff is rendered in atmospheric detail, with audio design and a soundtrack crafted to unsettle, amplifying each uneasy footstep and flicker of light. The darkness itself becomes a formidable adversary, as players must gather their courage to uncover secrets hidden behind every door and inside every shadowed corridor.
Exploration is at the heart of Baptiste, with the environment itself telling a story of suffering, loss, and the grotesque beauty found in the macabre. Players will piece together the narrative through notes, objectives, and whispers from the past, while navigating a world where the grotesque and the beautiful are entwined. The journey promises chilling revelations, each new discovery drawing players deeper into the game’s disturbing lore.
To support further development, Firenut Games is launching a Kickstarter campaign, giving fans the opportunity to secure exclusive Standard and Collector’s Editions, along with other rewards. Early registration for the campaign is now open, allowing interested players to receive updates and be first to know when the project officially launches.
