Following the game’s release earlier this year, Bandai Namco Entertainment has launched the second season of its mecha-based extraction shooter Synduality Echo of Ada. Titled Punishing Land, the new season introduces a range of updates and content additions designed to improve player experience and expand gameplay.
Among the changes introduced in this season are several balance adjustments that remove previous limitations. Weapons and Cradles are no longer tied to specific factions, allowing for greater flexibility in playstyle. Additionally, players can now earn more from selling AO Crystals, and the time required to craft Cradles has been reduced.
A key feature of the season is the introduction of a new high-difficulty stage called Punishing Lands. This zone challenges players with the prospect of death in exchange for a chance to obtain rare, high-tier equipment. Within these lands, players will also encounter powerful Enders, offering further opportunities for valuable loot.
Two new maps have been added: the Underground Arsenal, an industrial setting where Enders guard top-tier items, and Dream Island, a hazardous cityscape set above toxic waters, where falling results in mission failure but offers the reward of premium equipment.
The seasonal update also brings environmental changes, with the Amasia Eastern Region entering its rainy season. This change boosts AO Crystal output, increases drop item quality, and enhances Ender strength to high-tier status. Players can now craft “Legendary” grade weapons and Cradles during this period.
In terms of character content, players will be able to team up with Magus characters such as Lynn and Ciel, the latter of whom also appears in the anime Synduality Noir. Later in the season, a new PvE-exclusive area called Molten Dunes will be introduced. This location will host a raid event featuring a giant Ender as a central challenge.
