HoYoverse has confirmed that Genshin Impact‘s Version 5.6, titled Paralogism, will be available from 7 May 2025, bringing with it a range of new story content, playable characters, and a management-focused gameplay event in Fontaine.
Players can look forward to returning to Mondstadt, where the usually festive Windblume Festival takes an unexpected turn. In a new Archon Quest Interlude, Albedo finds himself at the centre of a sudden trial. As the investigation unfolds, players will team up with Venti, members of the Knights of Favonius, newcomer Dahlia, and Lady Alice from the Hexenzirkel. However, the courtroom drama is just the beginning. As danger escalates, players must negotiate with Lady Alice and undertake a magical trial — a new Weekly Boss Challenge played out on a mystical chessboard against powerful enemies known as the King and Queen.
Meanwhile, Fontaine will play host to an entirely different kind of challenge. In the Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland event, players will help manage an amusement park alongside Navia and other familiar faces from Fontaine and Natlan. The event tasks players with developing three main attractions — Eclectic Escapades, Movie Masterpieces, and Mellow Manor — by upgrading facilities, recruiting and training employees, and cleverly managing Action Points to boost revenue. Success in this event will earn players Performance Rewards, including the exclusive four-star bow, Sequence of Solitude.
Joining the playable roster in Version 5.6 are two new characters: Escoffier and Ifa. Escoffier, a five-star Cryo polearm user and the former head chef of Hotel Debord, merges culinary skill with elemental prowess. Her Elemental Skill summons the All-Spectrum Multi-Use Cooking Mek, which can either stay in place to absorb elemental attacks and prepare food or follow the active character to unleash Cryo damage. Her Elemental Burst offers both healing for allies and debuffs to enemy Hydro and Cryo resistance, with the effects amplified when accompanied by Hydro or Cryo teammates.
Ifa, a four-star Anemo catalyst user from Natlan’s Flower-Feather Clan, enters battle with his dinosaur companion, Cacucu. His skillset allows him to heal teammates, pull enemies together with a summoned wind current, and enhance Swirl and Electro-Charged damage through the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanic. In addition, Ifa can automatically heal the active character when their health falls below a certain threshold.
In terms of character availability, the first phase of banners will feature Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa, with Kinich and Raiden Shogun set to appear in the second half. Players will also have another chance to access a selection of five-star characters from Inazuma with the return of the Chronicled Wish.
