Nintendo has confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will both be available from 5 June 2025, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2.
These updated versions feature performance enhancements designed for the new system, including smoother frame rates, improved graphics, and reduced load times, offering returning players a more refined experience when exploring the expansive world of Hyrule.
A new feature exclusive to these editions is the ZELDA NOTES service, accessible through an upcoming update to the Nintendo Switch App (formerly the Nintendo Switch Online App). This in-game assistance tool helps players locate difficult-to-find elements such as shrines and hidden Koroks. It also includes in-game commentary from Princess Zelda, a new addition not present in the original releases.
