Days Gone Remastered, an enhanced edition of the open-world survival game developed by Bend Studio in collaboration with Climax Studios, is now available for PlayStation 5 and PC. The updated version aims to provide the most comprehensive experience of the game to date, featuring new gameplay modes, accessibility options, and technical improvements.
Players return to the role of Deacon St. John, a former outlaw biker navigating a post-apocalyptic world infested by aggressive creatures known as Freakers. With new platforms comes improved hardware. The remastered edition enhances the game’s visual and technical performance on PlayStation 5 and PC, including improved graphical fidelity, extended foliage draw distance, refined lighting and shadows, and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

New gameplay modes introduced in Days Gone Remastered include Horde Assault, Permadeath, and Speedrun. Horde Assault presents a new challenge in which players must survive increasingly large waves of enemies, including evolved Freakers and hostile survivors, while aiming for high scores. Permadeath and Speedrun modes offer additional ways to test player skill and endurance.
The remaster also introduces a range of accessibility features for the first time. These include High Contrast mode, adjustable game speed, UI narration, and collectible audio cues, designed to broaden access to the game for a wider audience.

While the PlayStation 5 version is the definitive edition out of the box, for those playing on PC, all new features and game modes are included as part of the “Broken Road” downloadable content, available through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. PlayStation 4 owners who previously purchased Days Gone can also upgrade to the remastered PS5 version on PlayStation 5 for $15 AUD.
