Independent developer TomorrowHead Studio has unveiled their first gameplay trailer for WILL: Follow The Light, offering a first glimpse at the narrative-driven adventure set against the backdrop of the northern seas awaiting players. The game is scheduled to launch in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The newly revealed footage introduces players to the remote, ruined hometown of the game’s protagonist, Will, a lighthouse keeper who embarks on a personal journey following a sudden disaster. The trailer seeks to showcase key features including realistic yacht navigation, scenic ocean exploration, environmental puzzle-solving, and the game’s visual presentation beneath the aurora-lit skies.
WILL: Follow The Light follows the story of Will, who leaves the safety of his lighthouse after receiving a distressing radio message – and his son is declared missing after a catastrophe strikes their town. Guided by grief and determination, he sets sail aboard his yacht, “Molly”, and ventures across icy waters and snowy wilderness in search of answers.
The game aims to combine first-person exploration and narrative with lifelike mechanics, including a simulated sailing system, authentic navigation tools, and dog sled traversal. Players will be able to explore an open world, solving puzzles rooted in real-world logic and uncovering environmental storytelling throughout Will’s emotional journey.
Roman Novikov, Founder and Game Director at TomorrowHead Studio, shared the following comment on the team’s vision:
We are a small team of game developers with great aspirations for WILL: Follow The Light. We are using our own technology and Unreal Engine 5 to push the boundaries of what a small, independent development team can achieve, and we are working hard to build a detailed and immersive story for players to experience.
