Velan Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched Midnight Murder Club, a multiplayer hide-and-seek shooter, in early access for PlayStation 5 and PC. Available for $29.95 AUD, the game supports crossplay and cross-progression across both platforms, allowing players to seamlessly connect and host game sessions. To encourage multiplayer engagement, Velan Studios has also introduced a Midnight Murder Club Guest Pass Edition, available at no charge. This allows up to five players using the Guest Pass to join a game hosted by someone who owns the full version.
To mark the launch, Velan Studios has released a new trailer showcasing the eerie and chaotic gameplay within Midnight Murder Club’s setting, Wormwood Manor. You can check the full trailer out below:
In Midnight Murder Club, up to six players compete in tense, pitch-black environments, using only a revolver and flashlight to hunt down opponents. The game features five distinct modes, each offering a different challenge:
- Free-for-All – Six players enter the mansion, with the one scoring the most kills before time runs out emerging victorious.
- Thief in the Night – Teams of two search for valuable skulls to deposit into vaults, with the team accumulating the highest value winning.
- Team Deathmatch – A battle for survival in a team-based shootout.
- Head Hunters – Two players become the hunters while the remaining four must locate and burn three hidden demonic totems before being caught.
- Wildcards – A new mode where players use collectible cards to alter the game’s rules in unexpected ways, such as giving everyone super speed or causing players to explode upon death. Each match rewards new cards to expand gameplay options.
Velan Studios has also released an in-depth developer diary discussing the creation of the Guest Pass Edition, which is available to view below:
