ATLUS has confirmed that RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, a re-release of their PlayStation 2-era action RPG Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army, will be available on the PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch from 19 June 2025. This announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation.
The remaster, developed in Japan by ATLUS, promises to be a faithful upgrade of the original title. Enhancements include an overhauled battle system, improved graphics, full voice acting for the main storyline, and quality-of-life improvements designed to modernise the gameplay experience.
Set in a fictionalised version of Japan’s Taisho era, the story follows Raidou Kuzunoha XIV, a student who doubles as a Devil Summoner and works undercover at the Narumi Detective Agency. When a young heiress visits the agency with an unusual request—to be killed—she is suddenly kidnapped, launching Raidou into an investigation that spans the city and beyond. His journey leads him into the Dark Realm, a hazardous space where the boundaries between the real world and the netherworld blur, and demons roam freely. What begins as a simple missing persons case quickly escalates into a conspiracy with national implications.
To mark the announcement, ATLUS also premiered a special livestream event titled The Return of Raidou Kuzunoha | World Spotlight. The presentation included a first look at gameplay and an interview with Game Director Kazuyuki Yamai, known for his work on the Shin Megami Tensei and Devil Summoner series.
