Flat2VR Studios has launched the “New Environment, Custom Songs+” update for Trombone Champ: Unflattened. Available now on Steam VR, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest devices, this free update introduces the game’s first-ever alternative stage, new trombones, custom song support for Meta Quest, and a variety of quality-of-life enhancements.
The update adds a snow-filled Outdoor Winter Environment. This frosty setting is the first alternative environment in the game, and may very well be a sign of further environments to come. Additionally, players on Meta Quest devices can now load personal tracks using the new custom song feature. George, the game’s devilish storekeeper, offers a quick in-game tutorial to guide players through the setup process.
Players can also look forward to new trombones, including the Bean Trombone, Koi Fish, Chinese Red Envelope, and Unicorn horns, each bringing unique sounds and visuals to performances. The update introduces Aim (Pitch) Assist, a feature designed to help players stay on pitch without impacting their score, offering a smoother experience for both newcomers and veterans. Furthermore, “Simplified” mode has been rebranded as “Unflattened Mode” and optimised for VR, making tracks more engaging and, at times, more challenging.
Rounding out the update are several quality-of-life improvements, such as store shortcuts, streamlined navigation, bug fixes, and more. These changes are aimed at enhancing the overall experience and ensuring the game continues to delight fans of its unique, brassy mayhem.
