Following its original PlayStation 5 release in the opening months of 2024, Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC version brings enhanced visuals, improved performance options, and customisation features to tailor to the specifications of each players PC.
Key PC-specific upgrades include 4K resolution support, 120 FPS performance on high-end systems, and improved lighting and texture density. NVIDIA DLSS ensures upscaled image quality, while variable refresh rate (VRR) compatibility delivers smoother gameplay. Players can fully customise controls for mouse and keyboard or use a DualSense controller, benefiting from the same haptic feedback as the PS5 version. Additionally, the game has been Steam Deck Verified.
In celebration of the PC launch, Square Enix is offering an Early Bird discount of up to 30% on select editions until 5 February 2025. Available options include the Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition (featuring a digital mini-soundtrack, artbook, and DLC items), and Twin Packs bundling Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Players who purchase the PC version will also receive the Posh Chocobo Summoning Materia as a bonus.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a standalone continuation of the story initially explored in Final Fantasy VII Remake, following Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII as they escape the dystopian city of Midgar to pursue Sephiroth, a figure from Cloud’s past with dark ambitions. The game offers unexpected twists, memorable characters, and cinematic set pieces that appeal to both newcomers and longtime fans of the series.
