Activision has announced the impending launch of Season 02 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone, set to go live on 29 January 2025. This update is set to deliver players a wealth of new content, including maps, modes, perks, equipment, and a new Battle Pass. Key Additions to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Season 02 introduces several new multiplayer maps, game modes, equipment, and updates to ranked play and esports:
Multiplayer Maps: Three new maps—Bounty, Dealership, and Lifeline Strike—will be available at launch. Later in the season, two additional maps, Bullet Strike and Grind (a remastered Black Ops II map), will be introduced.
Game Modes: Players can try Overdrive, Gun Game, and limited-time Valentine’s Day-themed modes, including Third Wheel Gunfight and Couples Dance Off.
Equipment Updates: New additions include the Slipstream Perk, War Machine Scorestreak, Hunter’s Instinct Perk, and Flyswatter Wildcard, offering expanded tactical options.
Ranked Play and Esports: A new Ranked Play season will begin, providing new rewards, with further details about the Major I Call of Duty League tournament to follow.
Zombies Updates
The Zombies mode will receive a new map, gameplay enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements:
New Map: “The Tomb,” set in catacombs, continues the narrative of the Sentinel Artifact with connections to the Dark Aether.
Gameplay Enhancements: Players can utilise the Death Perception Perk, new GobbleGums, the War Machine Scorestreak, and new elements such as the Shock Mimic enemy, Staff of Ice, Aetheric Lanterns, and Arrow Traps.
Quality of Life: Updates include co-op pause functionality, challenge tracking, and HUD customisation options.
What’s New in Call of Duty: Warzone
Season 02 for Warzone focuses on gameplay refinements, new perks, and ranked play:
Gameplay and Perks: Updates include tuning and bug fixes, alongside the introduction of Reactive Armor (which regenerates armour) and Low Profile (which enhances movement efficiency).
Ranked Play: A new Battle Royale Ranked Play season will offer additional rewards.
Cross-Mode Features
Season 02 also brings new weapons, attachments, and Battle Pass content:
Weapons and Attachments: Ten new weapons will be introduced throughout the season, including the Cypher 091 Assault Rifle, PPSh-41 SMG, Feng 82 LMG, and TR2 Marksman Rifle, alongside attachments like the Underbarrel Crossbow and Belt-Fed Magazine.
Battle Pass and BlackCell: The Battle Pass will offer free and premium rewards, including three base weapons, Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more.
New Operator: Vortex is the featured Operator, with Nocturne and other characters, such as The Terminator, available in-store bundles.
