KOEI TECMO Games and developer Gust have officially launched Fairy Tail 2, the action RPG sequel to the 2020 game based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail franchise. The game is now available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Set during the Alvarez Empire Arc, Fairy Tail 2 brings enhanced action to players through a reworked combat system designed to deliver dynamic and visually striking magical battles. Players can control members of the Fairy Tail guild, including Natsu and Lucy, as they freely explore the Kingdom of Fiore and face off against powerful adversaries such as Zeref, the Spriggan Emperor, the elite Spriggan 12, and the Black Dragon Acnologia. The game also introduces an original story arc, Key to the Unknown, which unfolds after the events of the final battle. Spanning four chapters, this storyline allows players to undertake new quests, meet unexpected characters, and explore both iconic and original locations.
Future DLC content for Fairy Tail 2 is imminent: The first DLC pack, available from 23 December 2024, will include new costumes, such as the “Special Outfit: Complete Set” and “Erza Outfit: Miss Fairy Tail Contest.” Additional DLC scheduled for January 2025 will feature content like the “Bonus Scenario: Fairy Tail Hot Springs” and the “Outfit Set: Swimsuit.”
Fairy Tail 2 is available as a standard edition in both physical and digital formats. Fans can also opt for the Fairy Tail 2 Digital Deluxe edition, which includes the base game, costumes inspired by the Atelier Ryza series, the exclusive “Atelier Lucy” feature, and a selection of in-game items. In addition, a special edition is also now available exclusively through the NIS America online store. The “FAIRY TAIL 2 GUILD BOX” edition includes the base game, the visual artbook “Sorcerer Magazine Special Issue: Game Release Edition Vol.2” inspired by the “Sorcerer Magazine” as seen in the original work, a Special Shikishi with Holographic Finish (three types in total), and more.
