For the first time on any PlayStation console since the PlayStation Portable, and for the first time since the PlayStation 2 for a PlayStation home video game console – Phantom Brave is now available to purchase on the PlayStation 5. The edition on is the newest Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Remastered edition, featuring the original story arc and the follow-up arc introduced in the PSP remake. In being available on the newest generation of hardware, this digital-exclusive release features a range of new features including:
- 120 FPS support
- Improved 3D model and landscape textures
- Improved anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and rendering quality
- Fullscreen CRT shader
- Faster saving and loading speeds
A free update for Phantom Brave PC has also been introduced, implementing the new features to the PC version as well.
This release comes on the cusp of Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, the first sequel after more than two decades, being released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC starting on 30 January 2025.
