Sony Interactive Entertainment has released Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Developed by Guerilla Games in collaboration with Nixxes, this updated edition expands the availability of Aloy’s journey to those without PlayStation hardware, and returns to the exploration of the machine-dominated world, with visual improvements and new features tailored for the latest hardware.
The remastered edition has been optimised to harness the power of the PlayStation 5, adding visual fidelity, improved framerates, and a range of features unique to both the PS5 and upcoming PS5 Pro. The PC version also offers enhanced support with ultra-wide resolution options, NVIDIA DLSS 3, and AMD FSR 3.1, aiming to improve performance on compatible systems. Trophies are now available for PC players through the PlayStation overlay, making it easier to track progress across platforms.
Incorporating accessibility features from Horizon Forbidden West, the remastered edition supports remappable controls, haptic feedback, and various assistive toggles, allowing players to customise their experience. For those revisiting the game, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered also supports previous save data, enabling players to continue with their progress.
Owners of the original Horizon Zero Dawn or Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition can upgrade to the digital remastered version on PS5 for $15 AUD or local equivalent. However, those who accessed the game through PlayStation Plus are not eligible for this upgrade.
